Real Estate in Bena, Minnesota
The town of Bena is centrally located between 2 of Minnesota's best fishing
lakes.
Leech Lake and Lake Winnibigoshish. Going west out of Grand Rapids
on HWY 2, you will come to Bena in about 15-20 minutes of driving time.
Here is a neat little gas station that has some bait for sale as well
as other convenient store items. Why I have this picture of this building on here is well....,
with only 147 people, there isn't much to the size of this town, but this
building is special. It is 1 of only 2 buildings still standing that Frank
Lloyd Wright built in Minnesota. The other is a corner gas station built
for the Lindholms and was called the Lindholm Service Station, in Cloquet,
Minnesota built in 1956.
Frank Lloyd Wright was born in 1867 in Richland Center, WI on June
8. He is the first child of William Cary Wright and Anna Lloyd Jones Wright.
.
Just about 7 miles or so down the road from the center of Bena and
on our way back to Grand Rapids on HWY 2, we saw two deer jump over the
Mississippi River! That was so cool I had to stop. Here you can put 1 foot
on each side of the Mississippi's banks ... Now you can't do that every
day, not even at Itasca where the Mississippi River begins!
