Biwabik, Minnesota is located in the heart
of the Messabi Iron Range on Hwy 135. About
a 15 minute drive from Eveleth or Virginia. One thing I really noticed
about Biwabik was how clean and well kept up the city streets and businesses
looked. The shops have a unique dutch or scandinavian look to them. The
store fronts stand right out and look impressive. Imports and Gift shops
attract many visitors on there way through and the town has a beautiful
Park right on the Main street in town.
Biwabik has a very nice beach area and a campground on Embarrass Lake
just 1 minute out of town. It is a great fishing destination. Swimming
and water skiing are the lakes top activities. The beach is very well maintained
and has a lifeguard on duty from June 15 - Aug. 15th. We had some great
fun playing volley ball in the sandy court provided. A nice fishing dock
is in place for some nice shore fishing or have a seat on the benches at
the end and watch the lakes activities. The local campground is called
Vermilion Trail Park Campground.
