Located in Washington County
In 1855 Louis Schiel, a german immigrant, became forest Lake's
first settler. Building a house on the Northwest corner of Present
day Forest lake.
In 1868 the town was platted by railroad official who planned on
developing it
into a Major hub. Visitors traveled by train to enjoy the areas
Lakes
making Forest lake into a resort area.
Forest lake was incorporated in 1893. Today the area is most know
for it's
water recreation activities and is also home to an Impressive Fourth
of July celebration
